This opal is from Ethiopia and is a non-hydrophane opal (crystal type of rough opal). This opal is a gamble, it may or may not be of gem grade material, so I call it a Display or a Specimen opal. If you cut it and it works that's great. Its easy to crack when the opal is very dry, keep it wet ALWAYS. 62.2cts 31mm x 27mm x 18mm Photos are taken wet under a simple LED Lamp and with a mobile phone camera. Tricky to state exact size so I show all my opals next to UK 5 & 10 pence coins to give you a good idea of the size. (10 x £0.80)
